How to Create Attention-Grabbing Ads with Your Digital Signage

Published on Apr 29, 2019 | Digital Signage

Digital Signage is an eye-catching and intriguing format for advertisements to be displayed on.

The size of these screens can range from a standard sized television inside a businesses premises, all the way to the largest digital signage projection screen in the world, the Viva Vision canopy, which is 27 meters wide and 457 meters in length.

As you can see, digital signage can be incredibly versatile, while also being capable of spanning huge spaces to catch eyes from miles around. But the placement and size of the display won’t matter when the advertising content is subpar. Let us discuss how to make attention-grabbing ads to use with your digital signage.

How to create effective digital signage

There are some simple but effective ways to format your advertisements in order to take full advantage of the dynamic nature of IPTV digital signage.

Be Clear and Concise

First of all, you should always aim to be as clear and concise with your message as you can. Many studies have tried to get an exact answer, but the general consensus is that human attention spans are in the range of  8-12 seconds. This means that you need to ensure that your digital signage advertising gives people the information they need quickly, as this increases the chance of them taking in enough information to deem your services worthy of their money. Some vital information to include on your signage is contact numbers, locations for events and links to your company website.

Make it legible

Next, any information on display needs to be easy to read. This is best done by ensuring the font is large enough, alongside being legible to read. It is highly recommended to have a higher number of images, leaving the text for the vital information we mentioned earlier. When you have a digital medium such as signage, media content is much more enticing to the eye, alongside being easier to digest.

Think of your audience

Another important thing to keep in mind is your audience. Within a casino, it would be suitable to have bright and flashy images on the screen, designed to instill a sense of excitement in your clientele. This excitement will change the mood of the person viewing it, potentially making them more willing to spend money and take risks which could result in increased revenues – a desirable result. When it comes to an airport departures lounge, this wouldn’t be met with the same response. This environment would instead benefit from a neutral color palette, with highly contrasted coloring to ensure text is easy to read for everyone.

Have a call to action

Last, but certainly not least, is including a call to action in your signage. While most people would forget something after simply reading it, following up with action helps to solidify your companies presence in their minds. This can be done by proposing that potential customers participate with something your company is doing. This could include something simple like requesting they follow you on social media for more information, or even telling them to call or text a number to get a limited time offer.
