VidOvation at the 2017 NAB Show Las Vegas
VidOvation will showcase its latest innovations in video transmission and distribution systems. Highlights include:
VidOwave 10GigE 60GHz Blazing Speed, Compact, Rugged Wireless Ethernet Link
The VidOwave 10GigE 60G is an advanced 60 GHz millimeter-wave broadband and
wireless data connectivity solution that delivers low latency and full-duplex 10 Gigabit Ethernet transport speeds in a small ruggedized, easy-to-install enclosure. The wireless link operates in two modes; 10 Gbps direct fiber to radio connectivity and 2 x 1.25 Gbps links with aggregated throughput of 2.5Gbps. The line of sight range is up to 1.8KM over the 60GHz license-free V-band. Typical deployments include line-of-sight data links that would otherwise be impossible or cost-prohibitive with fiber optic cable for such applications as IP video streaming and transport, connecting LANs between buildings, extending fiber backbones, and wireless backhaul for 3G and 4G/LTE mobile networks.
VidOsat Quick Deploy, Portable, Ku and Ka-Band Satellite Terminal
VidOvation is launching the new VidOsat Quick Deploy, Portable, Light Weight Ku and
Ka-Band Satellite terminal. Satellite and cellular can be bonded together for a hybrid transmission solution. The design includes a five segment, 1-meter high gain carbon fiber reflector, ‘no-tools’ assembly, folding feed arm assembly, quick deploy tripod, inclinometer and fine adjust on Azimuth and Elevation. The tripod has detachable sand feet to allow for ground anchors to be fitted ensuring maximum stability for reliable operation. The lightweight, high quality and reliable construction in conjunction with high gain 1-meter carbon reflector will ensure excellent performance even at the extremities of the satellite footprint. The VidOsat collapsible satellite terminal is perfect to bring as checked luggage. The VidOsat fully integrates with the Haivision DMNG PRO bonded cellular transmitter.
VidOswitcher IPTV Switcher for TV and Display Remote and Zone Control
The VidOswitcher fully integrates with the VidOvation IPTV system by simplifying the
remote controlling of IPTV end points in many situations, ranging from TVs in common areas, video-wall TVs in lobbies, to arrays of TVs in production rooms. The VidOswitcher shows all TVs and all available channels of every location. Tuning a TV to a channel is done by simply selecting the TV, picking the channel and then clicking the tune button. Multiple TVs can be tuned to the same channel at the same time by putting them in a TV Group, selecting the group, picking the channel and then clicking the tune button. VidOswitcher can instantly tune multiple TVs to multiple channels using Profiles, which are TV to channel mappings, such as TV1 to CH10 and TV2 to CH20. Profile tuning is simply selecting a Profile and clicking the tune button. VidOswitcher leverages IP protocols to control TVs efficiently and precisely and can control smart TVs as well as TVs with set-top boxes. VidOswitcher is browser based making ideal fro any device such as smartphones, tablets, touch panels and PC monitors. No software is required.
NEW DMNG PRO180+ Global Bonded Cellular for Live Broadcast
Haivision’s popular DMNG PRO video uplink series expands with the new DMNG
PRO180+. DMNG PRO180+ supports most of the cellular networks deployed in the world, including Europe, the Middle East, Africa, the United States, Canada, Latin America, and most of Asia. The versatility of this version gives broadcasters and video professionals the flexibility to travel everywhere in the world with a single unit without needing to replace its internal or external cellular modems.
Advanced 4K and Multi HD HEVC Video Encoding and IP Distribution
A key highlight at the 2017 NAB Show will be the transition to the HEVC video
compression standard. Haivision’s live IP video solutions support HEVC, allowing broadcasters to deliver even better video quality at lower bit rates.
Haivision’s HE4000 4K Ultra HD HEVC live encoder is ideal for real-time delivery of live UHD or HD content over unmanaged IP networks. The compact, half 1-RU encoder combines 10-bit and 422 HEVC encoding with the latest generation of SafeStreams® technology for delivery of live video content over IP at low latencies and low bitrates.
Thanks to Haivision’s SafeStreams® technology, which combines intelligent H-ARQ algorithms with IP bonding mechanisms, the HE4000 ensures the delivery of live video even in the midst of unpredictable and unmanaged network conditions, enabling broadcasters to provide seamless news and sports coverage from any location around the world. By combining HEVC encoding and Haivision’s SafeStreams® technology, the HE4000 dramatically reduces bandwidth costs while guaranteeing superior video quality.
Advanced Cloud-Based Live Video IP Contribution
Haivision’s live IP contribution system is mainly composed of the DMNG StreamHub
transceiver and the DMNG Manager management system. The system operates in virtualized mode to deliver all of the economic benefits of the cloud without compromising the performance required by today’s media environments.
Haivision will showcase at NAB their extended cloud-based capabilities. By supporting both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint distribution scenarios, the platform offers broadcasters the flexibility they need to stream live video content to any CDN and streaming platforms such as Facebook Live or YouTube.
Multiple input and output streaming protocols (e.g., RTMP, RTSP/RTP, HLS, TS/IP, Haivision SafeStreams®) are supported by the platform, enabling broadcasters to receive concurrent incoming streams from remote Haivision DMNG transmitters and encoders, MacBook and smartphone applications, or third-party systems such as IP cameras. The DMNG StreamHub now serves as a generic integrated receiver decoder or IRD in your master control
Innovative Mobile Journalism (MOJO) Solutions
Haivision has enhanced its industry-leading Mobile Journalism (MOJO) solution, which
includes the DMNG Laptop MacBook application and the DMNG APP iOS and Android applications. The new version of the DMNG APP smartphone application offers live streaming, store, and forward of high-quality, live video. New is an optimized interface, advanced camera settings (e.g., focus, exposure, white balance), dynamic resolution, and video quality improvements, with the capability to transmit video over bonded 3G/4G and Wi-Fi connections in just seconds. See the latest DMNG Laptop MacBook live video application with a new HEVC video compression option that dramatically improves performance.
