Thor Broadcast is now delivering the most cost-effective integrated multifunction 4K UDP Encoder / RF (QAM, ATSC, DVB-T ) modulator with CATV RF, IPTV, and ASI output. This powerful encoder also includes IP and ASI inputs for further utility and performance. 

This 4k Broadcast Encoder covers all of the following applications:

  • 4K/UHD over IP
  • 4K/UHD over CATV RF COAX – QAM or ATSC or European DVB-T
  • 4K/UHD over ASI
  • 4K IP stream to QAM or ATSC or DVB-T  (RF Channels will pass 4K resolution)

This new unit integrates H.265/HEVC and H.264/AVC encoding, multiplexing and modulating all in one chassis.
Comes standard in a 1RU rackmount chassis. Supports UHD Ultra-High-Definition Television UHDTV resolution up to 2160P @ 60hz Chroma 4.2.2 and 4.2.0

Supports one HDMI (2.0) channel UHD signal input for encoding, and in addition, it has 2 ASI & 128 IP input for remux and multiplexing as well as modulation on any of the 4
DVB-C/T carrier outputs with one RF port. It also has 2 ASI ports and an IP port to output TS in 4* MPTS.

Encoding Technology:

The newest Thor Broadcast 4K Encoder is processing uncompressed UHD signals at eight times the bit rate of current HD sources, it encodes content in real time via 10bit HEVC, and it offers incredible compression efficiency, making live UHD delivery available for satellite, cable, terrestrial and fiber networks.
