HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Server

The HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Server is a 1U system delivers security, performance, and expandability with dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Each CPU socket supports 12x DIMM slots for a total of 24x DIMM slots on the system board. Depending on the chosen configuration, up to 4x Large Form Factor (LFF) SAS/SATA or 8x Small Form Factor SAS/SATA and 2x NVMe are available. There is an optional SFF or Dual UFF drive on the rear of the chassis. This system supports 3x PCIe expansion slots.

Designed for data center optimized High-Performance Computing applications, the HPE ProLiant DL360 Gen10 Server supports dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. A total of 24x DIMM slots are supported when both CPU sockets are active. SAS and SATA drives are supported on this system via 4x LFF or 8x SFF + 2x NVMe drive bays on the front of the chassis.

Performance


This system can be outfitted with dual 1st or 2nd Generation Intel Xeon Scalable Processors. Due to the hardware limitations of the system the chosen CPUs are limited to options between 4x and 28x physical cores. Cooling is provided by a bank of 6x standard fans for a dual processor configuration of 4x standard fans for a single processor configuration. Optional 6x high-performance fans are ideal for the system when it is fully outfitted with hard drives, CPUs and other configuration specific components.

Memory


Each processor supports six memory channels, with each channel supporting two DIMM slots on the system board. A total of 24x DIMM slots are available when both CPU sockets are active. Depending on the chosen CPU the maximum memory configurations supported on this system are 3TB and 6TB. Supported memory modules include Unbuffered DIMMs (UDIMM), Registered DIMMs (RDIMM), Load Reduced DIMMs (LRDIMM), and NVMe (NVDIMM) modules.

Storage

There are a few different chassis configurations to choose from depending on your workload requirements.

  • 8 x SFF drives up front with and optional drive cage supporting 2 SFF or 2 NVMe drives or two dual UFF drives
  • 10 SFF NVMe drives up front
  • 4 LFF drives up front

The optional rear mounted dual NVMe drives are mounted in a special 2.5-inch smart carrier that will hold two UFF (Micro Form Factor) M.2 cartridges each, for a total of four UFF drives in two smart carriers. Another optional rear drive option includes a single SFF drive or one dual UFF with two M.2 cartridges and is available for all chassis configurations. The optional rear drive options will take up some of your PCIe slots. Administrators can choose from several Smart Array storage controllers for both internal and external storage options. Both the 4-bay and 8-Bay chassis support an optional optical drive.

Expansion


The system will support a maximum of three PCIe 3.0 expansion slots with either one or two CPUs installed. There are also several options for the primary riser to support different cards and including a GPU riser, a SATA M.2 riser, an NVMe riser, and a secondary riser that supports three PCIe slots and is the only one of the bunch that requires two processors. There are five USB 3.0 ports total, which is standard on all chassis with one in front, two in the back, and two internal.

Management

The HPE DL360 Gen10 Server offers Administrators embedded management and enhanced security with the new Integrated Lights Out (iLO) 5.0 module with a new HPE custom chip and updated firmware. The combination offers enhanced security features that HPE terms the “silicon root of trust”. iLO Basic is standard on the system but Administrators can also choose from several other advanced editions with the purchase of a license key. There’s also an optional Trusted Platform module that prevents unauthorized access to the chassis, and an optional intrusion detection kit. For managing multiple generations of HPE servers, HPE OneView helps Administrators quickly allocate resources where they are most needed. OneView is part of HPE’s Composable strategy allowing the reconfiguration of server storage networking assets to deliver resources where they are most needed, at any time.
